More transparency in extractive industries - piloting in Liberia
The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) addresses corruption and lack of transparency in extractive industries of developing countries by providing a global standard as well as connecting important global stakeholders. Some issues of this approach are a weak linkage between EITI reports and development issues, weak governmental structures and mistrust between stakeholders. This applies to Liberia as well, which was chosen as a pilot country for the results-framework approach. The Dialogic Change Model was used for the successful realization of the project, with a special focus on relationship building and trust-building. As a result, the national secretariat agreed on working as a container which promotes and ensures the implementation of the program.
