Low precipitation, high temperatures, sandy soils and regular droughts characterize the region Sertão located in Brazil’s northeastern state of Bahia. Agricultural practices are often inefficient and as a result local communities are often short of income. Due to insufficient resources and know-how, local farmers in Brazil struggle to adapt to the devastating effects of climate change. By applying a Stakeholder Dialogues approach this project explicitly aimed to develop innovative solutions which cannot be developed without the whole spectrum of stakeholders being involved in the process.
